Calan attends his first party …and meets a girl ;)

Last night, we attended the reunion party for our child birth class. All the parents from the class came together toting babies and sharing birth stories. The highlight of the get-together of course was when all the babies were assembled on a couch. As you can see from the photos, Calan took this opportunity to get a little closer to one of the “ladies” in the group. We’re not sure she appreciated his advances, but it appears Calan enjoyed it – way to go little man!

Calan’s Two-month Birthday

Calan celebrated his two-month birthday today, and did so in style. Thanks to Sona for the spiffy outfit (and again to his grandmother Kerri for the monthly birthday stickers). Most of all, thanks to Sir Calan for gracing us and the camera with his smiles during his birthday photo shoot!

Calan’s One-month Birthday

Calan turned one month old today. He couldn’t be more excited (especially in the first picture below!). We celebrated by visiting the doctor for his one-month checkup, where he passed with flying colors. He’s a little guy holding steadily in the 10th percentile for height and weight. He’d gained a full pound since his last checkup though two weeks ago. He’s now a whopping 8 lbs. 9 oz.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a month already since our lives completely changed. We can’t wait to see what the next month brings! (Thanks to his grandmother Kerri for supplying the monthly birthday stickers in the photos).

Oregon grandparents visit Calan

Gran (a.k.a. “Gran-mama”, “Grandmother”) and Grandpa Yost drove down from Oregon and visited from August 22-27. The whole week was ALLLLLL about Calan of course, with a little bit of time available for cooking, cleaning, and shopping…much of that for Calan, no doubt!

Kidding aside, the grand-parentals really took the load off of us new parents for a few days. We got to catch up on some work, errands and chores around the house. We even had a series of home-cooked meals and got a little extra sleep while the grandparents watched over Calan. Food, sleep and family… is there anything else you need?
